CANDLE KNIGHT

During my time at Dracma Studios, I was initially hired as the marketing manager and eventually promoted to game designer of their debut title Candle Knight, recipient of one Epic MegaGrant in 2021 and released on June 2023.

I was able to contribute to the game design in:

​

• Re-designing the first level using my previous research to re-balance the player's path and place recovery items, checkpoints, and enemies across the map.

​

• Create and design three different puzzles (paintings in-game) to fulfill different goals depending on the level and player's skill.

​

• Design and iterate on Bookworm's behavior (first boss) to match the gameplay and mechanics that we had in the boss room, while most of it got unused, part of the behavior was preserved.

​

Additionally, I had the opportunity to do different tasks on the marketing side, such as:
 

• Create the marketing roadmap and social media strategy for pre-launch and launch

​

• Research and playtest different levels on the genre, including creating surveys for player experience.

​

• Create and iterate the official pitch of the game that brought around 10 to 15 publishers interested.

​

• Attend, promote, and pitch the game to different investors and publishers across events such as Game Developers Conference Summer 2020, Cutting-Edge Games Live 2020, and MeetToMatch.

• Design the first promotional poster, including the game's first teaser trailer, by capturing gameplay, high-quality screenshots, and cutscenes.

 

• Create several surveys to collect and analyze data for the target audience including type of and player motivations
